There have been feedbacks from people about some of the SASE’s ( Self Addressed Stamped Envelopes) being returned. Seemingly the address for certain product assemble companies is no longer valid. If this has happened to you, we need to hear about it. As you may well be aware there are hundreds of such offers today that claim themselves to hire people to assemble products from home. You may also be perfectly aware that not all of them do not work out as promised. In fact most of them do not. The only way to weed out outdated information and false work offers is to get a feedback from real people with real experiences.

If you have any information about a product assembly at home job offer, do kindly share it with us on this website. Many of the major assembly jobs at home are listed.

What You Need To Do…Do a search from the search box on the side.

If a post about that assembly job already exists, post your comments under that post. If you cannot find a related post, post your comments under any related pos, such as this one.

Feedbacks from people like you is the real test of any offer, product or service. If you go through this blog, you will realize that there is a mix of bad and good reviews. The idea of getting and posting feedbacks is not simply to know what is good and what is bad. Sometimes things do not work in absolutes. Getting a few good reviews does not mean that product assembly work is wonderful and everyone can succeed in it. Like wise a few bad reviews may not necessarily mean that it is a scam.

What one needs to do is, look at the feedback analytically. If someone is posting a bad review, what is the reason. Could the problem have been avoided? For a good review, is the information current? Does the circumstances of the person who is reporting a good experience match yours?

The bottom line is that there is way too much controversy about product assembly jobs. They have been labeled as scams on many a blogs and forums. But surely there are a few legitimate ones out there! Some people have reported doing this work for years on end.

Share your experiences and make this a better work from home community for those looking for assembly jobs at home.

HOME ASSEMBLY WORK – Est. 1989
Post Office Box 360
Eastpointe, Michigan 48021
Talk about one too many crafting companies and you feel like you are talking about them all. There is nothing really is remarkable about this company as well. It is a typical home based assembly company that offers certain Crafts to make at home. We have not been able to establish any records of people that have worked for this company. This does not mean that the company has not employed people in the past or is still not continuing to do so.
We do however believe that any estimate company should provide details about itself and genuine testimonials about the people who are currently working for them. If a company is not able to satisfy these requests, the home worker should proceed with extreme caution. This company does not list any physical address but only a postbox address. As we have mentioned in the past post box addresses are not to be completely trusted. You have no idea where your money is going or who is paying you.
If you have any experience with this company or know someone who has kindly share your opinions and views with us by posting your comments on this post.

MERRY CREATIONS
This company is a little vague to start working with as they do not list any sort of contact information on their website. All that they have is the e-mail form, which you are supposed to fill up in case you want to get in touch with them. If you try to click on the link that is supposed to show the products that they have to assemble, it says that the page is under construction. Overall, there is not much professional fees to the web site for this business.
We constantly profess the advice of staying away from business opportunities that do not the list addresses, phone numbers, fax and a customer’s service help desk to assist you with any questions and queries that you might have about the business.
We have found no concrete records of any person having interacted and worked for this company.

All three companies seem to belong to the same group which is the Holm Productions. Their pin code, location and the website footer is the same. The report from the Better Business Bureau also lists all companies under the same head i.e Rets, Inc. with the contact person being the same person. The BBB has nothing good to say about this company, as is the case with the majority of the Product Assemlbing companies. The number of employees in the company seem to be just the one person Mr. Greg Holm who is the proprietor. Is this at all possible for a business? Having just one person in employemt?.
The description of the crafts is deceptively simple. The keychains and the bookamarks are not as simple to make as they may sound, if the feedback from the people is to be believed. The suggested income is in tune of several hundred dollars if you can finish 3 batches and above in a week’s time. This is an unrealisctic goal for most of the assembling people. 3 in a month is a more likely standard and that too after you after you have got the hang of making the craft.

This website actually lists four product-assembling companies. Kalas Crafts, Gussies’s Gifts, Hands on Hobbies and Makin It Easy.
We have covered Making It Easy in another post of ours. As for the other three companies, information is listed below.

As you will notice none of them actually have a physical address that they give out.
Some of the assemble at home companies claim that this is for security reasons. The only security reasons that we can think of is that they do not want people looking for their money back when they feel that they have been scammed. We feel that this is not the ideal conditions under which the business should operate. If they are continuously facing a problem of people being dissatisfied with the company and demanding their money back, then they should be a change in the policy.
Why hide behind post box addresses? Wanting to stay anonymous from their own workers does not instill a great deal of trust in people. If their credibility is nothing to doubt, product assembling companies should list company details like as any other business.

This brings to mind a great example of another product-assembling web site that goes by the name of Magical Gifts or New England Crafters that actually put up a list of the people who are currently working for them.
When dealing with any of the companies that do not list their physical address make sure that you contact them and ask for additional information. Clarify each detail regarding the work involved along with a request for more information on the people who are currently working for them.
Do not be embarrassed about asking questions like how and where the market and sell their craft items. This after all is the backbone of any product as sending company. They are actually supposed to be selling the products that you are making for them. Any Legitimate company will have a satisfactory answer for this. If they do not then please be very wary of this company as they probably have something to hide.
We have not found any substantial information or record of anybody working with the companies listed below.

If you have any experience with any of these companies or know someone who has, these share your experience with us by commenting on this post. It will help us and others reading it gained more insight.

This is an assembling company that makes miniature crafts like doll houses and jewelry boxes. There are a few things that strike you when you read the copy on their website. They claim that they never charge for supplies for additional batches once you have paid the $50.00 registration fee. Once you buy their start-up-kit, you can finish your batch of ten items to get paid $50.00 for it. Once your batch gets approved they automatically send you the supplies for your next batch without charging you extra.
The second thing that grabs your attention is a question in the frequently asked Questions where they list a physical address in Orlando as their office address. The invite you to come and visit their office if you can before 4:00 PM. They also mention that the keep the products on display in their office so you can come and physically examined them before deciding to work with the company.
Now, we haven’t been able to actually locate someone who has taken up on their offer, but on the front of things this makes a forthright offer, Provided they do actually hold an office at the given address and entertain people to come and pay them a visit if they are interested in working for them.

The money back guarantee is also slightly different. They offer to refund half of your start-up registration cost which was $50.00 whether you to or do not use that kit provided to you to make your product. Which means that if you decide not to work for them on receiving the start-up kit, you might as well give it a go and at least try before you send it back. You will get the same money back whether you use nothing all of all of the raw materials sent to you.

We do not have much information about this company apart from what we have read on the web site. Kindly look into it and investigate any home business enterprise before you decide to take part in it. We feel that for any business you should be able to find people who are working for them successfully. Locate these people and you will know that the company and the work that they provide is real and genuine.
If you have had any experience with this company all know someone who has please feel free to post your experiences here as a comment. All input is appreciated.

Extract from the FAQ:

I live in Orlando. May I come to your office?
YES. Our offices are at 915 West Lake Holden Point, (formerly 37th Street), in Orlando. We are in a residential home off South Orange Blossom Trail. We are here Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. We have samples of all of our items on display in our office, as well as the kits and materials. We like you to come in before 4:00 pm so that we will have plenty of time to spend with you. We also request that you call before coming to our office.
May I drop off my items in person?
YES. If your items are in our office by 10:00 am we will have them inspected and, when they are accepted, your check will by ready by 4:00 pm that day. If you drop something off after 10:00 am it may be delayed until 4:00 pm the next day.

Sometimes people decide after looking at the kit that it is not for them, or that they do not have the patience for miniatures. Go ahead and try it anyway. If you decide you do not wish to make these products you may return what you have not used of the kit and you will be mailed a refund of 1/2 of your deposit, deducting 1/2 for restocking, packing, and clerical expenses. The refund is the same if you use all the materials or return the kit in untouched condition. You might just as well give it a try.

The following are there products:

Dollhouse Gift Box - This box is made of cherry wood that is about the thickness of a dime. It is about 1″ high, 1″ wide, and about 3/4″ deep. It has no drawers, but opens into two lined compartments, and a lid that is also lined. You will receive wood, Elmer’s glue, pattern, knife (to cut the wood), velvet ribbon for the compartment lining, and complete directions. Everything is provided to make ten boxes except for scissors and a ruler. The wood is not precut. Extra material is included in case you make a mistake. We pay $5.00 for each box. Some people think this box is a little easier because it has no hinges or knobs.
Dollhouse One Drawer Jewelry Box – This box is also made of cherry wood that is about the thickness of a dime. It is about 1″ high, 1″ wide, and about 3/4″ deep. It has just one drawer and a lid that opens, with dividers in the top compartment. You will receive wood, hinges, Elmer’s glue, pattern, knife (to cut the wood), velvet ribbon for the drawer lining, and complete directions. Everything is provided to make ten boxes except for scissors, a ruler, and wire cutters. The wood is not precut. Extra material is included in case you make a mistake. We pay you $5.00 for each box that you complete correctly.
Dollhouse Three Drawer Jewelry Box – This box is also made of cherry wood that is about the thickness of a dime. It is about 1″ high, 1″ wide, and 3/4″ deep. You will receive wood, Elmer’s glue, pattern, knife (to cut the wood), velvet ribbon for the drawer lining, and complete directions. Everything is provided to make ten boxes except for scissors, a ruler, and wire cutters. The wood is not precut. Extra material is included in case you make a mistake. We pay you $5.00 for each box that you make to our specifications. Some people think this box is easiest because there are no hinges and the wood grain is matched only in the front of the drawers.
Dollhouse One Drawer Silver Chest – This chest is also made of cherry wood that is about the thickness of a dime. It is about 1″ high, 1″ wide, and about 1-1/8″ deep. It has just one drawer and a lid that opens. You will receive wood, hinges, Elmer’s glue, pattern, knife (to cut the wood), velvet ribbon for the drawer lining, and complete directions. Everything is provided to make ten chests except for scissors, a ruler, and wire cutters. The wood is not precut. Extra material is included in case you make a mistake. We pay you $5.00 for each box that you complete correctly.
Miniature bows – These bows are used for many of our miniature items. They are tiny, the size of a dime. The bow is made of ribbon wound on the special bow maker we provide. You will wind the ribbon around the pins and glue it into place in the center with your low temperature glue gun. We pay you 25 cents for each bow that you make for us to our specifications. These are done in sets of 400 bows, so that you will make $100 each time you send a unit of bows to us. We know that not everybody likes to work with wood. If you start with bows, we will never ask you later on to work on a project made with wood.

This company has the following three products, Eye Glass Case, Cd Totes and Cd Stands. The first two products Involve stitching and sewing work. The supplies are sent by the company except for the threads. They claim that you can make more of a thousand dollars every month making either of these products.

There is no obvious record or information available of someone having successfully worked for this company.
Whenever you are intending to work for a crafting company please keep the following points in mind:
Number one, the company should offer enough information and details about itself and establish itself as legitimate and active business. Number two, it should provide enough testimonials from people that have worked successfully for them and are still doing so. Number three, all of your communication with them should be clear and you should not get the feeling that they are being evasive of trying to hide something from you. If it sounds too good to be true all of it sounds a little suspicious Then trust your instincts and move away from the company and their home based job offer.

If you have any information or an experience that you would like to share with us regarding this home based assembly company kindly post your comments .

The following is the basic information available on the web site of this company.

This is a soft case made with cotton, and can be sewn with a basic straight stitch on a regular home sewing machine. We buy these eyeglass cases from our producers by the “set”. There are forty eight pieces in a set, and we pay $70.56 per set. A maximum production of five sets per week is allowed, which would equal $352.80 for the week.

The cost of this starter kit is $29.95 plus $5.95 shipping and handling. The price of the starter kit is refunded back to you when you complete eight sets of cases.

We will pay up to $409.20 per week for these CD totes; and we pay fast, within three days of our receiving your successfully completed totes. There are millions of CDs sold each year making a great market for totes to carry them. Our tote is made with simple straight stitch sewing, from a very basic pattern.

We use cotton calico fabric, as well as many other fun prints. We have prints for men’s, ladies, and kids totes also. The cost of this kit is $31.95 plus $6.95 shipping and handling; total $38.90. The price of this kit is refunded to you when you become a producer by completing eight sets of totes. Included in the starter kit is our finished sample case, the pattern, instructions, materials to make your first tote, fabric swatches, and our quality control checklist. This is the same checklist that we use to inspect your totes.

….our stands are very basic in design and construction. The tools needed to build them are a saw, drill, sandpaper, and although not mandatory, a router is very helpful. A clear coat polyurethane is all the finish required; No staining or painting is needed…….
You can get the materials from us, or you may get them on your own. ….There are ways to increase your profits when you obtain your own materials. As an independent contractor this is one of your basic rights. Below is the payment and cost breakdown on each project.

For eyeglass cases we pay: $70.56 gross for completing one set of 48 eyeglass cases to our written specifications and sent to Elk Creek Case Co. postage paid. The compensation breakdown is, ($39.20 labor + $27.36 supply cost+ $4.00 shipping = $70.56 ) For maximum production of 5 sets per week we pay, $352.80. Because sewing is a skills task, individual production levels vary widely.

For CD totes we pay: $81.84 gross for completing one set of 32 cases to our written specifications, and sent to Elk Creek Case Co. postage paid. The compensation breakdown is ($39.84 labor + $37.90 supply cost + $4.10 shipping = $81.84) This is a sewing project and individual production levels vary widely. As sewing is a skills task and you work according to your schedule, you may be able to make one set a week or up to five. We pay within 72 hrs. on approved sets.

Starter Kits: To start making eyeglass cases you will need a starter kit. This kit will have everything in it that you need to get going. It contains a finished eyeglass case with enough supplies to assemble your first sample case. Also included are fabric samples and our easy to follow instructions. The eyeglass case starter kit and registration cost is $29.95 plus $5.95 for shipping and handling for a total of $35.90.

To register as a producer of our CD cases a starter kit is also needed. This kit will have everything in it that you need to get going. It contains a finished CD case with enough supplies to assemble your first sample case. Also included is the pattern and our easy to follow instructions. The kit and registration cost is $31.95 plus $5.95 for shipping and handling for a total of $38.90.….we will refund your registration and kit cost of $29.95 for the eyeglass case kit; or the kit cost of $31.95 for the CD case kit upon the successful completion of 8 sets of cases (minus shipping and handling).

ARTISAN CORPORATION OF AMERICA

Artisan Corporation Of America has been around for a long time. What we can discern from their website is that they pay you for making earrings from home. The website copy reads the same as many other along with it.
What we find a little strange about Artisan Corporation Of America is that it says there are no deadlines in making the finished product. Is this possible for a company that is trying to run a business in craft making? What happens to their orders and sales if nobody has any fixed period to finish the products? Don’t they have a supply to meet, dealers to supply, buyers to sell to? How can they possibly know when what is coming in if everyone is making stuff on random times? I sure would like an answer to this one. Anyone? Please post below.
They also say that the earrings are easy to make. As per the reviews of the people who have tried to make the earrings, they are not exactly all of that. They do require skill and practice to make.
It also says “Finally, if you decide making jewelry is not for you, just return the complete Basic Jewelry Kit within 14 days, unused and intact, and we will refund your purchase price, minus $11.97 for shipping, handling and restocking.” Which means that you have to decide that you do not want to work for the Artisan Corporation Of America just by staring at the kit. If you actually try to make it and use something out of the starter kit material, they are not going to refund any of your money. Not much of a guarantee in my opinion.

Here is what a few people had to say about this company:
One such person who used the starter kit from the Artisin corporation of America said that the earrings actually took her two hours to complete round the first time. This person also says that although her samples were near perfect her work kept getting rejected. It is always hard in the case like this to see whether this was the result of deliberate unfair action of company, as many people claim is the case with a lot of product assemble companies, or just that craftsman ship on the part of the worker was lacking.
Another person reports that they called up the offices of Artisan Corporation of America and asked forr details such as the physical address. The company refused to provide these details claiming that it was for security reasons. This sounds slightly strange. What possible security threat could they be facing when all they do is craft business? Maybe they meant that they do not want disgruntled people who have not been able to get through to come looking for their money. If such is the case then they this is not the ideal work and hiring practise, for this or ANY business. There are definitely other ways to recruit people to work from home while making crafts for you other than getting strangers to register online by paying a moderate sum of money.
Another user of reports that they tried to get in touch with the company for additional details and the company did not get back to them with any information, while another reports that the response was very unsatisfactory on the grounds of pleasentness and helpfulness.

This company seems to have a satisfactory record with the better business bureau . Although there are several complaints against them online in forums and blogs the record with the better business bureau for shows them to have a satisfactory status.

Program Overview – This is what the website has to say about their offer
Artisan offers you an opportunity to become a successful handcrafted jewelry producer. The guidelines on which our partnership is based are as follows:
• No Schedule
Some companies in our industry may block your production by requiring small initial purchase orders that increase in small dollar increments over time. In this arrangement, you are obligated to correctly fulfill your current purchase order prior to getting your next incremental increase. Not so when you work with Artisan. Artisan lets you determine your own jewelry production schedule – how much product you want to make and when.

• Multiple Styles
At Artisan is the only handcrafted jewelry company today that uses one basic technique in all of its designs, based on simple American Indian beaded jewelry.Other companies may limit you by offering you one style of earring to make.

• No Deadlines
Some companies may give you a due date that they claim is generous – with more than enough time to make your product. But a deadline is still a deadline. Companies that require due dates and/or purchase orders that must be honored can easily drop you from their program if you fail to comply. As a result, you could lose your investment. But Artisan requires no restrictive deadlines, due dates, or “return dates” for submitting your finished jewelry, giving you greater flexibility in your schedule. We let you make the choice.

• No Obligation
You are under no obligation to purchase supplies from Artisan or to sell us your finished product. Others require contracts, we do not.
Getting Started

To become a skilled Craftsman for Artisan, no experience is necessary. Artisan welcomes beginners—in fact, we offer unique, in-depth instructional aid and support as you learn this craft.

Learn By Doing

At Artisan, we want to ensure the quality of your work from the start. We offer a Basic Jewelry Kit with complete step-by-step instructions and supplies for 5 pairs of earrings. Plus, we encourage you to send in a pair of earrings, for us to review. We offer this service so that you can become comfortable with making earrings. When you feel that you are ready, you can begin making jewelry. Other companies may require that you start making large quantities of earrings without receiving a chance to receive feedback on the quality of your work.

As a part of the Basic Jewelry Kit, we also include the actual Shipped To Order Guidelines that we use to review product for purchase. By reviewing these guidelines, you’ll know in advance what is expected in terms of quality production prior to making jewelry.

Video Instruction

Artisan also offers an optional, exclusive instructional film in VHS or DVD format to Beginners or any Craftsman who may desire some extra help. The video allows you to actually see someone making Artisan earrings on a step-by-step basis. This easy-to-follow instruction is especially helpful to someone who has never made earrings before.

Live Support

Artisan’s strong position in the marketplace gives us the ability to maintain customer service representatives to assist you over the phone from 11AM to 3 PM Monday – Friday EST. Many companies, while representing themselves as large firms, only offer recorded support messages after hours– a frustrating prospect when you require a live person.

14-day trial offer
Finally, if you decide making jewelry is not for you, just return the complete Basic Jewelry Kit within 14 days, unused and intact, and we will refund your purchase price, minus $11.97 for shipping, handling and restocking.

Vallerie Hattery
Name: Valerie’s Hattery Inc. Phone: (231) 228-4562
Address: PO Box 5250 Traverse City, MI 49696-5250

This is a BBB Acreditted Business. The Better Business Bureau has a high rating for this business, A+. This is the highest rating that the BBB gives a business for being genuine and credible. Amongst other things, this company states clearly that the income potential working for them is minimal. You are not to view it as a home based business but rather as something that you would do for fun. We say this about the whole of the product assembling enterprise. Almost all the people who do this work, do it because they enjoy doing it and not because you are making serious money out of it.

BBB Rating: Based on BBB files, this business is a BBB accreditted business and has a BBB Rating of A+. Read the complete business report from the BBB here.

Products and Services This company offers sales of crafts and kits on how to make crafts. This company states that the money to be earned through their offer is minimal and that the offer is not a job, but spare-time fun.

Craft Profile This company has three basic products. One is an Christmas Angel that is made of satin, muslin, ribbon, paper and simulated pearls. But there is no sewing involved. Their start-up cost is also relatively pretty low and they seem to offer a good discount policy. They refund almost the entire registration fee minus the shipping cost, which is around $4.00.
Money Back Guarantee Not Unconditional… There is however, a catch to this money back guarantee. You will need to clarify with them whether whether they refund money for only unused kits or do you need to send back the kit in an untouched state for the guarantee to be valid.
The Easy Bookmark… Another product is the bookmark, which is made out of twisted braid of threads. As easy as this product might look, it is not. Threading the strings together and tying them in a perfect knot has proven to be a difficult job for many.
Free Unlimited Raw Materials… They also offer to send you the materials for making the bookmark completely free of cost, claiming not to charge for any raw materials what so ever. And they also offer to refund your registration fee with the first finished batch. The pay scale for these products are listed below in the excerpt of the description taken from the website of Valleriehattery.tk. The third and the final product is a refrigerator magnet, again claiming it to be a simple product that requires no sewing.
Buy Your Own Raw Materials And Take Your Time… This company allows you to buy your own raw materials. The also do not put any time limit on the duration required to complete the project. We always find this quality strange as we feel that any company who is in a serious business of selling crats to customers or supplying them wholesalers. One would expect them to have a time frame in which they require their workers to finish the product.
Feedback from people is… The people who have interacted with Valeriehattery seem to be mostly satisfied with the company. What we find pleasant about this organization is their relatively very low start-up cost. They also send in a sample before and if you so wish for $5.00. Please be aware that while people do get paid by certain product ascending companies it is not something that is substantiated or sustained for a very long period of time. Also getting paid once or even twice by a company does not mean that it is legit. If you are looking to make serious and adequate income from crafting work from home me suggest you look at your options to set up a home based business of your own. You are not going to make a lot of money doing assemble jobs at home.
