Hence, another popular item that is looked at is the Bookmark. There are two main assembly jobs that involve the making of bookmarks. One is, however, quiet different from the other. The bookmark that the Bella Beads offer to be assembled from home involves working with beads and thread. You will be stringing along the beads to assemble the bookmark much like assembling bead jewelry.

The second comes from the house of Valerie’s Hattery. As mentioned before this is one product assembly that is not only in good standing with the Better Business Bureau but also a member of the Michigan BBB.

If you are looking to find a simple product to assemble, the likelihood of it getting simpler than this is tough. Many people like to assemble products according to their crafting interest. Some are fond of sewing and embroidery so look for products that offer that kind of work. Some people enjoy woodworking and painting and therefore choose products likewise. However, a large number of people possess no specialized skill and yet are interested in craft making. For these people choosing products like key chains and bookmarks makes sense.

This does not go to say that these products are simple and just about anyone can assemble them successfully. That is the commonest mistake people make when trying to assemble products at home. Even the bookmarks that are offered by Bella Beads and Valerie’s Hattery will need careful and precision work. You need to be good at working with your hands and making crafts that are near to perfect in order to meet approval of the company. Remember, whatever product you are assembling, needs to be good enough to sell in stores and for people to buy.

Following are the details available on Bella Beads and Bookmark It:

Bella Beads, P.O. Earn $720.00 weekly.

Bookmark-It, P.O. The Artisan Corporation Of America is probably one of the oldest names when it comes to product assembly at home jobs. They are also one of the most heard off names when one is seeking to work at home and assembling products for an income. They do not seem to have stirred up too much of a problem with the Better Business Bureau as there are not many complaints against them and the few that there are, they all have the status of resolved.

But if you read the customer reviews that people who have worked for them have shared online, you will be hard pressed to find anything remotely close to flattering. To read the complete report of the Better Business Bureau on The Artisan Corporation Of America, follow this link.

There is a thread on a highly popular forum for home based working women that goes by the name of wahm.com. There is an interesting thread there that has people talking about their experience of assembling jewelry for The Artisan Corporation Of America. A funny incident shared by one of the assemblers is that even when they got someone professional to assemble the jewelry and sent in a perfect pair of earrings, the assembly business still rejected the work saying that it was inaccurate. That should get you thinking if nothing else. Besides no one had anything commendable to say about this assembly job offer. To read the complete thread on wahm.com about The Assembly Corporation Of America follow this link.

Artisan Corporation of America, P.O. Artisan Corporation is one of the largest home assembly companies in the industry. They are looking for people to assemble their jewelry based on one simple American Indian technique. For every set of 50 pairs of earrings you will get paid $350.00 and for every half set of 25 pairs - $175.00. There is no limit on how many pairs you can make and no deadlines for your production. The only specification is that all the products must be made according to the easy to follow instructions. The company will provide Instructions and supplies for 5 pairs of earrings. They also have a 10-day trial offer and a fast payment schedule. They have professed their interest and love for making Angels as a craft. Well, there are a couple of assembly companies that offer this craft item for assembly, Angel Pin Creations and Angelic Creations are two such home assembly work offers. The first among them is actually about assembling angel pins. The second one are actual angels that are 12 inches tall. Surprisingly enough there is no sewing involved.

The good news here is that Angelic Creations is a company that is also know as Valerie’s Hattery. This company is in a very good standing with the Better business Bureau. It is also a good representation of the product assembly work and does not make false claims as to the work and the earning potential. The work of making the 12 inch angels for Angelic Creations is for some one who is an art enthusiast and probably not suited for some one who is looking to make a full time income by doing product assembly.

We will discuss more about Angelic Creations or Valerie’s Hattery in another post.

Angel Pin Creations offers a hotline number that they can be contacted on. There is also a special line for Spanish speaking people. They have a website as well that makes communications with them that much easier. The pin is basically created for different holiday and other themes for different times of the year. Angel Pin Creations also makes the started kit available for what is probably the cheapest price.

But here is where is get a little confusing. This company has all the markings of a real home assembly job company. If you visit their website, you are likely to be impressed because they offer a lot of information. Although they could do with starting a forum or a blog where the people who are assembling products for them can interact with one another as well as the people who are seeking to do assembly work at home. Some assembly companies have started them. Coming to the confusing part, this company has a large number of complaints filed against it with the Better Business Bureau. It should be duly noted that it is not the number of complaints filed against the company as it is the way the company responded to solve them. In Angel Pins Creations’s favor, they seem to have responded and strived to solve each of the complaint filed against them. It also goes to show that a lot of people have worked or tried to work for them in the past. It is equally possible that many of those are successfully working for them even now. Do what we always tell you to do when checking out a work from home job offer. Call up and ask for references of people who are working for them. Try to find these same people online on forums and blogs.

To read the complete report on Angel Pin Creations on the Better Business Bureau follow this link.

This is some further information that we have available on Angelic Creations and Angel Pin Creations.

Angel Pin Creations, Inc., 1957 SR 60 East PMB 124, Dept. Two things are to be said, however. Even assembling key chains from home is not simple. It may very well seem like something that anyone can do, but it is not. Sometimes certain products are designed specially to sound simple but the actual design is made so complicated that the assembler finds it impossible to make with the resources and the raw materials provided. So beware of the products that sound deceptively simple. Always question the merit of the product you are assembling as only the products that are popular items are sellable. This in turn is the basis of why anyone will pay you to do assembly job for them at home.

Secondly, this particular assembly company seems to have an unfavorable record with the Better Business Bureau. There have been several complaints filed against it. Almost all of which are unresolved. The company even failed to respond to a majority of them. It is considered that it is not the number of complaints filed against a business that determines its reliability but the way that the business chooses to redress those complaints. And this assembly company seems to have done a poor job doing that. Sometimes a business exists in the kind of field where it is common place for consumers to have complaints. In such instances it is paramount that business deals with them to the satisfaction of the consumer. Work at home job offers are rife with false offers. The Better Business Bureau records a lot of complaints filed with them for the various work from offers advertised online and offline.

The Better Business Bureau issues the following notice for all work at home enterprise, including product assembly at home.

” Every day, ads for work-at-home jobs appear in newspapers across the country as well as in national magazines and on the Internet. Some of the offers include stuffing envelopes,
assembling products, reading books, reviewing movies, medical billing, or selling advertising on the Internet.
The BBB suggests using extreme caution when responding to any such offer. While ads claim high earnings and short hours with little or no experience, BBB files nationwide indicate no evidence of anyone making the promised money. Rarely, if ever, are these ads an offer of legitimate employment. Generally, these "jobs" require up-front fees for information or supplies, and only the person who ran the ad makes any money.
You should be aware that the United States Postal Inspectors regularly investigate these fraudulent schemes, and that you risk investigation and possible prosecution by postal or other
law enforcement agencies if you become involved in one of these schemes.”

There are two more work at home companies that exist under the same name i.e. Advance Marketing. One is located in Florida while the other in Texas. Whether or not they are the same product assembly company or not remains unclear. If you any information regarding them, please post your comments here.

To read the complete report on Advance Marketing on Better Business Bureau follow this link.

This is some more information available with us on this product assembly offer.

Advance Marketing, 330 W. Square Lake Road, Troy, MI 48098

Type of Work: Assembling Beaded Key Rings

Payment Description: Contact the company for more information

The company will provide all directions and patterns and there is no limit as to how many you can make. There are very few materials needed for assembly. Please send a S.A.S.E (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope)for more information.

Abundant Resources – City Capes – Kitchen Crafts – American Home Crafts

Abundant Resources is a work at home assembly job offer for those people who are interested in sewing jobs. Specially for those people who look forward to making baby items. You are going to need to be good with doing straight stitching with a sewing machine. The maximum income that can be made is $447 a week. This amount includes supplies and postage. Your net income will be roughly about the $360. But this is near impossible to achieve. It is more optimistic to expect to make this in the entire month. You should be well aware of the fact that the income from doing product assembly at home is not all together regular. You are going to have to put up with long delays in approval and payment. You are required to send in a sample of the Baby Bonnet for approval before you can work full time. This process can take up to a month and you might have to send in the assemble product sample more than one time. There is a hotline number provided that you can call for all assistance.

Important Note: According to the Better Business Bureau this company also exists under other names: City Capes, Kitchen Crafts, American Home Crafts. These are the names of all the same companies, although the address locations seems for these seem to be in California.

The rating with the Better Business Bureau for this company is an F. This is lowest rating that the BBB gives to a business and reflects the reliability that the company has in view of the Better Business Bureau. A partial reason for the reason is the industry that this company belongs to. The better business Bureau receives a lot of complaints regarding the various work from home offer. Since product assembling jobs at home are another example of this, they are liable to circumspection.

Another thing to note about this home product assembly company is that there have been no complaints filed against it with the better business bureau in the last 36 months. However, the BBB issues the following warning to all people looking for home based jobs.

“The Better Business Bureau warns against paying up front fees for work-at-home opportunities, which are often described as voice mail retrieval, reading email, stuffing or mailing of envelopes, processing mail, being a home mailer, updating mailing lists, typing labels, home secretarial work, e-commerce at home, or home computer work. The Bureau's experience is that these are often a variation on a chain letter. Those schemes are regularly shut down by the United States Postal Inspectors. If you are calling to complain about a problem with this company, and the complaint involves one of the opportunities just described, please file your complaint instead with the Postal Inspectors by calling 800-372-8347.
Other schemes may be described as medical billing opportunities, reviewing movies, reading books, or home assembly of various products.
How do you find a real job, which allows you to work at home? You can sign up with your state's employment commission or check out the classified ads. Do not expect to find real jobs that pay good money for easy work to be done at home. The request for an up front fee is a big warning sign. Even if the company is offering a home assembly opportunity or a directory of companies looking for home workers, we advise caution before paying any up front fees for any reason. You normally will no more have to pay to work at home than you would to work in an office, if the job is real. Because these types of companies come and go so quickly, the absence of complaints at the Better Business Bureau is not a good indicator that the company is legitimate. The victims may be too embarrassed to complain or the scheme may be structured to make it look like any problems are the fault of the victim.”

Read the complete report here.

To read the report on American Home Crafts that also seems to be an alias of Abundant Resources, click this link.

This is the some further information available to us on the Abundant Resources Product Assembly company.

Abundant Resources, P.O. Box 112063, Carrollton, TX 75011-2063

Type of Work: Sewing Baby Bonnets

Payment Description: $447.00 maximum per week for 150 Baby Bonnets. They do have a large assortment of products to assemble at home though. They have 4 different product for assembly. One that requires woodworking skills, while the other require sewing to be done. The rating with the Better Business Bureau is not great, being an F. But something that works to the advantage is that BBB does not have a record of any complaints being filed against the business during the past 3 years which the standard duration for which the BBB reports.

This company has been in business since 1997 which makes it over 10 years old. When the Better Business gives a rating to a business, it also considers the field of operation. In this case the field of operation is a home based employment opportunity. Because of the nature and the frequency of the complaints that the BBB receives concerning work at home opportunities, this field is determined to be unstable. There are many complaints that are filed against several work at home offers as they turn out to be not what they claim. Frauds and false offers are rampant when it comes to finding work at home.

It is a strong recommendation to proceed with extreme caution when trying out any work at home opportunity. Specially if you are required to send someone money.

That said, in order to assemble products for US Crafts you will either have to be a woodworking person or know sewing.

The product, by the sound of them, seem to be serious crafts and one that could support an actual business.

If you are interested in working for US Crafts, give them a call and get all the details. Also ask for references of the people who are currently working for them. The best way to verify the credentials of any company is to get a recommendation from employee who have a history of being paid by the company.

U.S. Crafts, P.O. Box 1529, Dept. NHA, Gardnerville, NV 89410,

Phone: 800-311-9909

This is the information available on the Better Business Bureau report:

Name: U S Crafts, Phone: (775) 782-6524, Fax: (775) 782-6056

Address: 1420 Industrial Way STE 1, Gardnerville, NV 89410-5744

Principal: Ms. Shelley Beale, Owner.

To read the complete report on US Crafts by the Better Business Bureau, follow this link.

This is other information that we have.

The company has (4) different home working opportunities for you. For woodworking, you will need to use a curve-cutting power saw (for example, scroll saw, band saw, or Table mounted jig saw). The products also need flat acrylic paint. If you wish to sew, you will need simply some basis hand and machine skills. To work on any of the following products, you need little or no experience.

Type of Work: Wood Angel Ornaments

Income Potential: $133.00 for 38 wood angels

This wok consists of cutting and painting a wooden angel. They have a rating of A+ which is excellent. This is rather rare. It is a BBB Accredited business for more than the past 10 years and has had only 3 complaints filed against it, all of which have been resolved. The start up fee for ordering the kit seems to be more reasonable than many others.

What also makes it notable as far as assembly jobs at home are concerned is the fact that the owner states clearly and categorically on the website that the assembly work is more for the craft enthusiast rather than someone looking for a serious and substantial home based income. If you are looking for means of earning from home on a long term basis and need the income as a stand alone means rather than a supplemental one, then you should best look elsewhere. In fact this applies to all product assembling at home offers. This kind of work is only good for the hobbyists whose primary concern is recreation rather than income. This is partly because of the fact that only the people who are genuinely fond of making crafts can sustain themselves in this work. Others may quickly find themselves getting bored.

There is something to be said however of the invalidity of the assembly job offer in MI. Kindly check if this is true. Also check why this is the case the offices themselves are located in MI and post your findings here.

There is a difference between the address listed here and the one on the website of the Better Business Bureau. These are the details with the BBB:

Additional DBA Names: Angelic Creations, Butterfly Garden, Bookmark-It

Phone: (231) 228-4562

Address: PO Box 5250, Traverse City, MI 49696-5250

This is what we have. Be sure to tally both and confirm when you give them a call.

To read the complete report of the Better Business Bureau On Valerie’s Hattery, follow this link.

Valerie’s Hattery, Inc. , 13435 S. These beaded strings can be wrapped around the stem of your glass in order to distinguish them from other glasses. These beaded strings or what the company calls the ‘wine keepers’ are assembled using colorful and pretty beads.

The work is seemingly simple although one of our readers has commented that it is difficult to get the beads strung out. Someone also mentioned that they allow you to buy your own supplies to assemble the product but the beads required to make the wine keepers are not easily found.

Nothing much is known about this company to us except that there have a few complaints about it to the Better Business Bureau, most of which have been resolved by the company. It is to be remembered that it is not the number of complaints that matter so much as the way the company deals with resolving them. So far Wine Keepers seems to have done a decent job. It should be noted that the rating that this company has with the Better Business Bureau is a F. This is the lowest rating that the BBB gives to any business. There are several reasons why the Better Business Bureau can allot this rating and it does not necessarily mean that the business is not a real business. Read more about it on the website of the Better Business Bureau. There is no data for them on the website of the Better Business Bureau. We encourage you to find out more information about the at home assembling offer that they have. Their products seem to be interesting. You will need to have some experience with sewing to assemble their product. If you are interested in assembling woodwork items then they have something for that as well. Listed below are some of the details for this work at home offer. The listed website does not work. Also they only list a Post Box address that we do not really trust. A real work opportunity should list out all pertinent details, including the actual physical address. They have phone numbers listed which you can call for further information. Please remember to verify all the details before considering to work for any work at home company.

Check out their references. Ask for the reference of some people who have worked for them in the past or who are currently working for them. Do not send your money to any work at home offer till you can verify that people are successfully working for them, no matter how good the offer sounds on paper and in theory. Many work at home offers have devised extremely smart ways of deceiving you and earning money the fraudulent way. So be alert and through with your checks.

Windrifts, P.O. It has some interesting points going in its favor. Usually assembly at home jobs require you to send the money and also your finished product via the postal mail. However, Cottage Industries offers the option of visiting their office and dealing with them in person. This probably does not mean much to someone who is not living in the Orlando area but it should. Cottage Industries is trying to exercise a transparency in their dealings with the home worker. They are not hiding behind a P.O. Box Address.

The second thing is that they seem to have a fairly square refund policy. You are refunded your deposit after you have completed one kit for them. If you do not then you are given only half your money back, regardless of how much raw material you have consumed.

You are also not required to make any further deposits to receive additional raw materials, either for correcting mistakes or for your next batch of items.

We did get a report from one of our readers who called up the Cottage Industries office. She was disappointed because they did not have the item available that she wanted to assemble and she was not given a date till which it could be available. If you make a call and find similar results, do post a comment here. The list of products available with the Cottage Industries is somewhat updated and listed below.

If you have the chance of going around to their office and paying them a visit then you must by all means do that.

A very important point to keep in mind if you want to assemble products for Cottage Industries is that they deal with making miniature items. The dollhouse products that you will be assembling are extremely tiny in size. Many people get a shock when they first see the work they are expected to do. Attempt this work only if you have the dexterity and the patience to work with very small objects. For some one who is new to this kind of work, it will definitely take time and practice. The following is the summary of Cottage Industries available with us.

Cottage Industries, P.O. Box 149163, Orlando, FL 32814-9163
Phone: 888-745-1731 (For Ordering) 407-898-7097 (For Questions)
407-894-9655, 888-745-1731
Website: http://www.cotind.com
Type of Work: Make 3-Drawer Wooden Dollhouse Jewelry Boxes
Income Potential: $5.00 per item with no income limit. (All listed items)
This 1” high, by 1” side, and ¾” deep 3-drawer jewelry box has no hinges and the wood
grain is matched in the front of the drawers only. The box is made from cherry wood.
Make 1-Drawer Wooden Dollhouse Jewelry Boxes
- With the same dimensions as the 3-drawer box, this one has one drawer with a
lid that opens. It is made from cherry wood as well and has dividers in the top
compartment.
Make Wooden Dollhouse gift Boxes
- This box has no drawer, knobs or hinges. It is a two-compartment box with a
lid. The dimensions are also 1” high, by 1” wide and ¾” deep and as the rest, it is
made out of cherry wood.
Make Wooden Dollhouse silver chests
- These are small silver chests assembled from wood, with one drawer and a
hinged top. Their size is a bit bigger than the jewelry boxes – about 1” high, by 1”
wide, and 1-1/8” deep.

Start making as many items as you wish at no registration fee! All items are assembled
using cherry wood and you will be paid $5.00 for every one you make according to
specifications. You can choose to make any one of the above items and Cottage
Industries will pay postage both ways. To begin making these exciting products, you can
order a start up kit that includes pattern, wood, glue, knife, velvet ribbon – enough materials to assemble 10 items of the products you wish to make. The wood is not
precut. For your benefit you will find extra materials included in case of a mistake. The
Best part of it is that postage for the kit is paid as well. The kit can be yours for a
deposit of $50.00 that will be given back to you when the company buys the 10 items
back. Otherwise, you will be sent another kit. The items described above are the only
ones available at the moment. For color brochures and complete information, please
send two 34- cent loose stamps or call the above number.

Woodworking Product Assembly – Bay Frame Company

As you will be well aware of by now, the product assembly work is mainly of 3 different kinds. One where you are required to have sewing skills, another where you are required to just wield a pair of scissors and a glue bottle or a glue gun and then there is the kind of assembly work where you are required to have woodworking skills. This product assembly job offer has some element of woodworking involved. Unlike some where you are required to know the basic woodworking like drilling and sawing, this one is slightly more complicated. You are required to make picture frames where you will need to know how to burn the stenciled design on to the frame. While you will receive the instructions with the startup kit, this is not the easiest of exercise. A golden rule with attempting woodworking assembling jobs is that only those who have experience with woodworking and are adept at it should try it. It is also a field where having a natural interest in woodworking helps.

Another aspect of note here is that the details of this assembly offer does not list a phone number. We usually do not recommend the companies that do not list a telephone number where someone in charge can be reached. You should not send money to any assembly work at home offer without speaking to the owner of the business or a customer care executive. Even if they send you a brochure, you should have exact details about the company such as the address of the office, name of the owner, number of employees, track record of payment, nature of business etc.

Make sure you get all this before you even consider sending your hard earned money to join a product assembly job offer. The following are the details for Bay Frame Company that claims to hire people to do product assembly from home.

Bay Frame Company, P.O. And yet they have the same things in common. This company pays for making wicker furniture for dollhouses. Believe it or not making and selling of doll houses seems to be one of the favorite items for product assembly at home work. The problem, however, with this kind of work primarily is that the work is extremely fine and detailed. Assembling dollhouses is difficult enough but making miniature wicker furniture for it is going to be even more tedious. Only people with extremely fine fingers and an ability to work with extremely tiny objects should attempt to do this work. Even before you send them a Self Addressed Envelope as they request, you should first give them a call on the phone number specified. Sometimes companies come and go. If a product assembly is not available on the phone number that they have listed then it is a good idea to forget it all together. Listed below are the details for this product assembly offer.

American Wicker Corporation, 1040 Woodstock Road, Suite 175, Orlando, FL. 32803.
Phone: 407-894-9221

Type of Work: Wicker Furniture assembly.

Income Potential: Contact the company for additional information. This company is looking for home workers to make tiny wicker furniture for dollhouses. Scissors and a small pair of wire cutters required. For more information, please send a long self-addressed, stamped envelope to the above address.

Please make sure to call and satisfy all your queries before taking the next step. This holds true not just for the product assembly jobs but for all the work at home offers.

Do the best you can to check the credentials and the past record for the company. Ask for references when you speak to the person in charge. Check online on blogs and forums and see if anyone has any information on them.

Product Assembly – American Home Crafts

This is another product assembly company that offers to employ people to work from their homes. While the product may differ the concept of the work remains essentially the same. There are, however, a few differences. This company offers a list of dealers where you can purchase your own supplies at a discounted cost. This means that you do not have to constantly keep sending the money to the company for additional supplies. Also you have the freedom to sell the assembled items on your own if you can. This is however not something that many of the home assemblers look forward. Product assembling at home is essentially about being able to make the items at home and then let the parent company take care of the selling and the marketing aspect of the operation. If you are to sell on your own then you might as do everything yourself without having to pay to receive the startup kit.

American Home Crafts sells baby items like burp pads and baby bibs. You will be required to have sewing skills in order to assemble these items at home. You will be allowed to make a maximum of 4 batches a week that will roughly fetch you around $460 a week. This is however the maximum and the ideal income. It is rare for any one to make this much money assembling a single product from home.

What needs to be seen is how regular and professional this company is when it comes to paying the people that work for them.

There is a phone number available that you should call to clarify all details and doubts. Please remember that product assembly is still a very uncertain area as far as working from home is concerned. the amount of money that you can earn and the regularity of that income is highly suspect. Please read what the Better Business Bureau had to say about working from home here. View all posts filed under BBB Tips & Advice

American Home Crafts, P.O. You can assemble burping pads or baby bibs – both very easy to make! All that is needed is basic skills and a simple sewing machine. American Home Crafts will pay you $63.00 for production and $52.00 for supply cost for every package of 3 dozen pads or bibs plus $4.00 to cover shipping. You also have the option of selling the assembled products on you own to friends, relatives, flea markets, etc. You can make a maximum of 4 packages per week ($460.00 total). A startup kit is available to you. It includes, pattern, instructions and fabrics to make one trial burping pad or bib. It is possible that you are working from one of the rooms on your house or even your bedroom or the living room. Children when they are small will usually find any and every reason to seek your attention if they know that you are around. Every argument, every need, every question will be referred to you just because you are there. And going by the sense of timing that they have, their attention seeking antics will kick off within ten minutes of you starting to work.

What you need to do is make them understand that when you are in a certain room, which is your home based office, you are not to be disturbed. Go as far as to tell them that that area is out of bounds for them. Kids may not understand easily why you are not available to them when you are just a holler away. So making them believe and understand that the office is a serious place is a god idea. Restricting them to go there at will re-enforces this thought. Tell them that they are to refer to you in the office only for a very good reason. They will try and come to you in the beginning, but as you resist that urge to go see what they are about in the beginning, they will gradually stop doing so. Close the door to your room or office. Eliminate extra sounds. Make the kids get into the habit of knocking before entering. This one really works. Nothing gets them to understand that they are disturbing you from doing something important than having to knock before entering.

If you work from the desk in a living room or the bedroom, make the kids play or study in another room.

Basically, imagine that you are operating not in your home but in an office for the sake of productivity. You always know at the bottom of your heart that you are indeed working at home and enjoying the freedom and independence that comes along with it. I hope you find this tip for a better working from home helpful.

Tip #1 – Staying Refreshed

Believe it or not sitting on your computer and working can burn calories. If you are working from home, the odds are that you are going to be spending a lot of time in front of your computer. There are exceptions, of course, such as having a home business like crafting, catering etc or running a franchise business from home. But if your home based work involves spending a lot of time in front of the computer then know this, all the time that you spend thinking and brainstorming issues, you are burning up calories.

It is common to feel pangs of hunger or thirst while working and many of us use these needs as an excuse to beak away from what we are doing. Getting up to snack or drink frequently can not only break the working rhythm but can also result in a short break turning in to a longer one. The other thing that can happen is that you end up ignoring your thirst, sometimes for hours on end, resulting in you feeling dehydrated.

Don’t let either of these things happen. Keep a bottle of water near your workstation so that it is a hand’s reach away. Keep a few health energy bars in the drawers of your desk. You can even make yourself a sandwich before you sit down to work if you know for a fact that you get hungry at a certain hour while working.

The secret of working from home is to make these little changes in your focus and discipline. I hope you find this little tip helpful.

Can You Work From Home?

Working from home seems like an attractive proposition to a lot of people. Everybody thinks of it as having more freedom for the things you want to do and improving the quality of your life. Being independent with your work means that you either have a business from home or you freelance as a professional. If you are someone who works for himself or herself but wants to work from home as well, you need to evaluate certain matters. The truth is that working from home requires additional motivation. You need to be more versatile and better organized. You need to be prepared to be the solution finder for all matters and sundry that crop up in your business. Consider the following before you consider working from home:

Are you ready to “ Do it Yourself”?

Working for a company mostly has you working with an infrastructural support. You have other people in the office who have separate functions that complement your duties. You have delegation of labor where you can assign several tasks to others. Working from home will most likely mean you handling many of these talks yourself. Unless, of course, you are starting out with a fair investment in infrastructure. You have the option of starting out with additional space and additional employees. You may also outsource your work to companies or freelance professionals for lobs such as marketing, accounting and bookkeeping etc.

Are you disciplined and organized?

You may find it hard to get many things accomplished without the presence of the daily working schedule that working in an office job imposes on you. Working in an office forces you to have a schedule. Being supervised with your supervisors and having to meet goals and deadlines keeps you disciplined and focused. Working from home, you will have to muster the will power to maintain the same, if not a higher, level of discipline. You will not have others to remind you or to depend on in order to be productive. It is one of the biggest setbacks that people face initially while working from home. They find their productivity lacking.

Making goals for yourself is a good tactic to maintain productivity and functionality. Set weekly and monthly goals and try to meet them. When you find yourself slacking, be ready to give your business extra hours.

Can You Resist The Distractions?

This is a collary to the ability to discipline and organize yourself in your work. working from home alienates you from the office environment which is designed with the sole aim of making the people perform to the best of their abilities and productivity. Instead you get all the distraction that are a part of your life at home. If you have a family it might the kids or friends. It may be house work or errands that need to be run. And just because you are there, you might be expected to do it. You may even feel like them getting them out of the way first. The trick is to make a work routine and stick by it as much as you can. It may seem like the obvious thing, but it is important. Your work hours should be treated like so by your family and friends. Make them understand that you are not to be disturbed while working. It is not all that difficult. After setting the example the first couple of times, they all get the message.

Website For A Small Business

How Important Is A Website To A Small Business

The first question that you need answered for yourself is, “ what is the idea or intent behind having a website for a small business?”. Its just not making online sales. It is also about having a presence on the internet. Lets cover both these aspects systematically:

Selling your products online:

almost anything and everything sells online today. If you are unsure whether your product can be something that is sold online you should consult an online marketing expert. There are more chances than not that they will be away the market and sell your product on the Internet. It is not a matter of creating booming sales online but about enhancing your offline sales. It may of course be very possible that your product does become a popular commodity for online shoppers. People shop online today for everything from electronics, cosmetics, groceries, apparel, crafts to even real estate. So you should not presume that your product is not something that can join this wide array of online products without doing some market research taking expert opinion of an online marketer.

Having a presence on the Internet:

many small-business owners go with the presumption that having a website is only about selling products online. This is simply not the case. Internet has become a powerful medium of information for people today. Many shoppers today look for information on the Internet before they go ahead and buy something. They look for information on the individual product as well as the company they are buying the product from. So even if you are not generating online sales having a good informative website about the product you sell and your company will serve to enhance the credibility of your product and your company. In fact, being now small-business this could be more crucial to you than the multi-employee and the multi-million-dollar companies. Having a good and professionally designed website can give an impression of size and professionalism that may otherwise be not possible to achieve.

Even when people are not looking to buy online they often search on the Internet for addresses and location of markets and stores where they may find their product. Having a website will small-business will help these people to find your offline store.

The truth about being in any business is that you face competition. And the truth about competition is that a large part of it has its presence on the Internet. If you do not want to lose any sort of an advantage to your competitors then you should go ahead and think of having a professionally designed website for your small-business.

It is equally important to have a website that is well designed and gives the professional impression. The website with bad navigation and poor designing will serve to cause your business more harm than good by giving an impression of unprofessionalism.

Selling At Craft Fairs Not For Everyone

Selling at craft shows is not for everyone. It is also not easy. But it just might the only way for you if you are looking to sell your craft if an craft show at an art gallery is beyond your means. The trend of craft fairs has shown an increasing trend over the past few years. More and more people are attending craft fairs all over the country. You can get hold of a craft fair calendar to know when a fair is appending and were. There is are a few fairs happening somewhere or the other at any given time of the year.

Participating in craft fairs is a great opportunity to network with other artisans. You get a fair idea of what is selling and at what price. Talking to other crafters can inform you about the sought after craft fairs and the ones to not waste time over. Also, if you are selling online as well you can create a clientele from all parts from the country. All you have to do is publicize your website along with your stall. Make sure that everyone who visits you stall leaves with your business card that has your website listed well. Even the customers that do not buy from you then might do so later. They may either buy something that they saw and could not make up their minds about or something completely new for another occasion.

With all that said, we agree that participation in a craft fair is a good idea for all crafters, right? Wrong. It is not a good for crafters who are not up to the task. You are not going to accomplish much if you do not enjoy the whole process. Check yourself for the following conditions before you head out to the next craft fair.

1) Judge Yourself:
Craft fairs have crafters participating from all over the country. Needless to say you are going to witness a bounty of high quality craftsmanship. Make sure your crafts are up to the mark and design and craftsmanship in order to compete. You can first only visit a craft fair in order to get an idea of the work being sold.
Some craft fairs are judged by a jury. A jury evaluates the crafts and only allows the ones to participate that pass their evaluation.

2) Research the Craft Fair: Having a craft calendar can help you with this. A craft calendar gives other vital information about the fairs. You will know the price of the booths, whether it’s a judged by a jury or not, the number of artisans participating, availability of a stall, contact information about the contact person etc. All of this is important information for you to decide which fairs to participate in. Plan accordingly. Factor in all costs like traveling and staying expenses. You may have to decide upon a special price for your craft in order to cover the costs of participating in the fair. Be ready to offer discounts in order to boos your sales.

3) Keep the costs Down:
Unless you have gained experience with participation in craft fairs and know exactly what sells and how much, start with minimal expenditure. Keep your losses covered till you are assured of the amount of profit you can generate from your sales. This will happen only after you have attended a few fairs. Try to find another artist who you can share a booth or a stall with. There may be some one like you who is looking to for a start up with craft fairs as well. If you plan on participating in various locations, remember that the sale figures may vary from place to place. Some crafts might be more popular in one than in another. Feed all this information to your research so that you know what sells best and where.

4) Pricing: Many times you need to price your craft differently for a craft fair in order to cover the extra cost that you will incur in making the journey, staying and renting the stall. Be ready to offer discounts on the items that are not selling well. Always keep the discounted items separate from the full price section. Discount only when you need to. Do not discount as a policy e.g. on the last day of every craft fair. Buyers remember these things and may wait to buy something from you till the last day of discounted prices when they would have just as easily paid the full price. Always keep a balance between highly priced items and the low ones. Highly priced items make more profit per item but sell less. Cheaper priced items may sell more easily but you have to sell more to make the same amount of profit. You should also be able to accept credit card payments.

5) Travel with all the stuff that you are going to require, including a companion. Selling at fairs can a tiring experience. Have a companion along who may be a friend or family. This way you can take short breaks in between when you really need them. You will also need help in dealing with the multitude of customers that are usually present for craft fairs. Since you will need to do other things like view other stalls and network with other crafters, it will serve to have someone to take care of your stall along with you.

Do not be disappointed if you do not make a profit selling on craft fairs straight away. Most crafters do not. Selling in craft fairs can be a very different experience than selling in stores. You should gauge your success not only by the number of sales but by the overall results that should include the number contacts you made for future business and the exposure that your business receives. If you are serious about making a profit out of selling at craft fairs then be ready for early mornings and traveling distances frequently. Learn from each fair experience. Home Based Craft Business

As far as I am concerned about this debate, a home based craft business wins hands down.

Here is how I choose to look at things. Craft and product assembly work at home is for the amateur crafter. It is for the non-serious hobbyists that is satisfied with some extra income every month. These are people that are either not skilled enough or inclined enough to grow a business for themselves. As far as craft making is concerned, it is very feasible and possible to develop a business from home.

If you need to make a choice between the two home based income options, check the following conditions to be true before you decide.

Who should try a Craft Business from Home:

1) You need to be a motivated person who is passionate about his or her crafts. If you have an original craft, even better. You need to either have the skill or the craft that will sell.

2) You want to be your own boss but are also ready to devote time and capital to your work.

3) You are able to develop clear and correct business plans for your enterprise. This means that you have a vision the company you want to create in terms of operations and assets, you have a strategy for advertising and marketing and you have capital and expense resources that are required for starting, launching and growing a business in its initial stages.

4) You are looking at long term goals. You are willing to put in the hard work and the resources to sustain the business in its inception stages. Most businesses take time before they start showing a profit or even break even with the cost required to start and run it.

5) You are an entrepreneur who is motivated and inspired by the thought of running your own business. You are prepared to be challenged by the demands of starting a successful business enterprise.

Who Should Try Product Assembly At Home:

1) you are mostly interested in making crafts as a hobby.

2) You are looking at a part time income that will allow you some extra money at the end of the month for a few extra indulgences.

3) You are good at making crafts and are able to generate work of very good workmanship.

4) You are living in a small town or city where the money you earn has more buying power. If you live in a bigger city then the amount you earn may not seem to be worth the effort.

5) You are looking for part-time work but still are able to give some time to this work almost everyday. It is important to make sure you work regularly in order to generate a suitable number of units every month. The more you make the more you earn.

6) You do not have the capital for a business start-up. This does not have to be the reason why you choose product assembly work. There are several financing options available to the enthusiastic entrepreneur today and not all of them are complicated.

Who Should NOT try Product Assembly

1) If you are looking to make a substantial and a serious income from home.

2) If you are a skilled and professional crafter. You are better off trying to find a professional craft job or a business of your own. If you can make professional crafts you can sell your crafts in various ways such as craft stores, craft fairs, to friends and family, through your neighborhood, on the internet etc. Do not waste your time and skill with an assembly job that only gives you mediocre returns. Read about increasing craft sales in these articles: http://assembleandearn.com/about/2009/04/5-tricks-to-increase-sales-of-your.html
http://assembleandearn.com/about/2009/04/selling-your-crafts-online.html
http://assembleandearn.com/about/2009/05/selling-wholesale-to-craft-stores.html
http://assembleandearn.com/about/2009/05/advertising-and-marketing-methods.html

3) If you do not have the patience to do enough research to find the right assembly jobs offer. The assembly jobs offer are a dime and a dozen. A lot of them are scams. If you are not going to research the offer enough, the odds are that you might end up loosing money with another home based scam.

Selling Wholesale To Craft Stores

Selling wholesale to craft stores means a lot more exposure and sales for your crafts. If you manage to get into a successful whole sale contract with a craft store, a lot of extra work hassles are taken care of. You do not have to concern yourself with marketing, advertising and selling as that is the role of the business you are supplying to. You can concentrate on creating and manufacturing your craft item. However, in order to land with a successful whole selling contract with a craft store you have to follow a right approach. There are several important points you need to keep in mind.

The most important thing is to make sure that you business is ready to handle the increased number of orders you are likely to generate from the wholesale orders.

Selling wholesale is likely to give your business more exposure which likely to be followed by more orders. Nothing will hurt your long term reputation then being unable to meet the deadlines for your orders.

Once you are sure of your capability to meet the orders, you need to start identifying the stores are interested in selling to.

Do not apply to any and every store you can spot. You need to do a research. To begin with make two separate lists of craft stores. One list contains the business you are really keen on working with and the second should contain the ones that you are really not all that concerned about. I will explain the reason for this later on in this article.

Now you need to start contacting these stores.

Be ready for the appointment. You could get it anytime. Be prepared to go if the store asks you to come by the very next day. Have your very best samples to show them. They should be accurate representatives of what you are going to be supplying to them. Match the paperwork to make identifying the products and the details about them easy for the store. There are two essential documents you will need to make. One will be a description sheet and the other will be a price sheet. The description sheet should have the details about each craft item such as size, color, weight, material used or whatever else is relevant to your craft. There should be a system where you can allot product codes to each craft. This is usually an alphanumeric string. This makes future reference to the product much easier and prevents confusion when it comes to placing orders.

The sales sheet should have the prices of all craft items and their variations according to size, color etc if they apply.

You should have you business information printed out on a business card. Make sure to leave a copy of all three with the craft store.

Prepare yourself with a presentation and potential questions that might come up. Be ready to prove the marketability of your craft. If you have done some research for this, make sure you have it with you at this point. Common questions that you need to be ready to answer is:

How is your craft better than the rest? ( if it is something that is already there in the market)

What makes your craft different from the rest?

What makes you think that it is going to sell? ( If it is a completely new craft)

How soon can you deliver the first order? ( This is usually a good sign as it means that the person has moved beyond doubting the credibility of the craft and is thinking ahead)

In the beginning you were told to make two lists of craft stores. Ones that you were not so keen on while the second of the names that you really wanted to work with. Here is the reason why. It is important to be confident of your craft and presentation when you approach a craft store for a whole selling offer. You need to be convincing about your ability as a crafter and manufacturer. If you are starting out fresh and this is the first time you are going to be doing something like this you may feel shaky in the beginning. It will be a good idea to practice first with the craft stores on the first list, wiz, the ones that you are not so interested in. After visiting a few stores and getting a feel of how things usually go, you will feel much more prepared and confident of hitting the stores you really want a business tie-up with. Good luck!

Advertising And Marketing Methods

It is a good idea to pay one attention to your marketing and advertising methodology along with craft making. In today's the day and age and every kind of business and product requires a certain amount of marketing. You may have the advantage of having a good network of people, however, most of the time you will need to use marketing methods to bring your product in front of the potential customers. Do not get daunted by the thought of handling sales and marketing yourself. If you do not want to spend a lot of money then you there are other means that you can rely on. You can always allot this work to someone else. Outsourcing to experts makes it possible to get expert services without having to hire someone full time. Also makes the services more affordable for everyone.

Even if you are selling a great number of items implementing marketing and advertising will only serve to extend your business. There are other means of advertising your product without having to spend a lot of money. When it comes to marketing on a tight budget you are only limited by your creativity. Since you are a creative person to be running a craft business, we can assume that creativity is something that will not be in a short supply.

Going to Craft Fairs
Going to craft fairs can put you in a unique position to promote your crafts. In it is an extremely useful place to develop networking with not only customers are to also other crafters in your own line of work. It gives you an excellent opportunity to observe the competition and a test your product product and price. You do not only come across potential customers but also chances for a partnership with other businesses. Many craft businesses are interested in new craft ideas and resources or other products from other fellow crafters.

Taking Samples To Stores
Depending on the kind of craft you make you can take a sample to local craft stores like toy shops, jewelry stores etc. Whenever you do so, make sure you carry the best samples of your craft. They should be accurate representatives of what you are finally going to be supplying. Along with your samples also carry separate price list and description list. There should be a code reference for each craft that makes it easily identifiable. The price list should contain the price of all of the craft along with the product code.

Local newspaper ads
Apart a national newspaper many towns and cities have a local newspapers as well. These newspapers mainly cover the local news and current events. Therefore they tend to target the interests of the local populace to a high extent. You will find that placing ads in the local newspaper is not only much cheaper or but gets you extremely good results as well.

Flyers And Posters
It does not cost much money to print out simple flyers and posters at home. It certainly does not cost much to put them in places of strategic interests. If you are willing to do some legwork you can place your flyers. Even if you are not, you can simply hire some youngsters to do the job for you for a few dollars. Putting them in places that is likely to see influx of the kind of customer you are targeting can get you wonderful results. The places that are known to perform well are craft stores, coffee shops, book shops.

Craft home parties
Nothing gets a business going better than having a party to celebrate its opening. Spread the word about your business through your friends and family and have a party. Put your crafts on attractive displays and showcase them to everybody who comes. Most of people usually enjoy coming to such parties as they get to meet a lot of friends. Make sure that everybody who comes does not leave without giving a feedback. Have them leave their contact information. You can send them messages or emails whenever there are is new stock or offers.

Craft Making As A Home Business

If you you are looking know to start a business from home and you also enjoy making crafts as a hobby then you possess the right combination to start the business from home. While there are many lines of businesses that can be started from home the field of art and craft is especially suited for this purpose. What art and craft requires as a main ingredient is innovativeness and creativity. These are not dependent on a heavy infrastructure or start-up costs. If you can paint, sculpt, make handicrafts etc you can do this worker from practically any room in your house. Since making crafts is more or less dependent on the artist, you can start home based business and manage the working hours as per your convenience.

When it comes to running a craft making business at home you can either choose to make one or several craft items. You may choose individual products or you may choose an entire category of craft items. For example you may choose to make a handmade lampshades as individual craft items or you may choose to make an entire category of stuffed toys of all kinds in different shapes and sizes. Apart from this there are various other forms of crafts that you can undertake at home such as making jewellery, sewing, embroidery and quilting, wood crafts, paper crafts, glass painting, scrap booking, flower arrangements, painting, sculpting, pottery etc. In the list is pretty much endless. It is possible that you just might have a completely original idea for a craft. You can do the market research and decide if your craft is worth launching .

Start Up Cost
The general idea about starting a home based craft business is that it does not require much money to start. It is possible to start a home based craft business with a low-budget as less as hundred dollars. But this depends on a lot of factors. If you have a good existing network of people, you will have no problem selling your crafts to begin with. If the craft you are making does not require any expensive equipment or you already own the equipment such as a sewing machine, then you can save up on your start-up costs.

Before you start a business make a financial plan. You will be able to determine all costs to be incurred such as marketing, advertising, rents, salaries etc. A financial plan can also inculcate the data from the market research. It may not be possible for you to sell your craft without using active marketing and advertising strategies. Starting with a low budget is good but it serves no purpose if you are not able to reach your buyers who will buy from you.

Once you have determined the course you want to move along, its time to put your decisions in to actions. If you feel that it is funding that you require, you can get appropriate small-business loans from banks, financial institutions, traders or even from friends and family who are willing to co invest in your venture.

There will be other functions you will have to perform related to the growth of your business such as marketing, advertising, hiring, managing etc. We will cover all these in further posts.

Where To Find All The Assembly Jobs

There are many websites that have a list of product assembly jobs. Some of these websites require you to pay in order to download this list while other websites list it would free. The reason why you need a comprehensive list of the product assembly companies is that there are so many of such offers available out there today.

The truth is that a majority of them are not reliable work at home offers in order to find yourself a suitable assembly job offer you need to contact as many companies as possible. Having compiled a list ready at hand saves a lot of time. You can easily take a printout and start getting in touch with the companies systematically. Different companies listed different methods of contacting them. You may be able to register through their website, telephone, fax or to the postal mail.

We always recommend trying to work for a company that has its physical details listed out clearly such as address, phone number, fax and the name of the person in charge. Many assembly companies only list out a P.O. Box address. In such a case you usually have no information as to the location of the company or the name of the person in charge. You have no idea where your money is going, who is paying you and who is running the show. It is usually a good idea to avoid these companies unless you are able to speak with someone at the company office and derive the real address.

It is your choice whether to search the Internet for read assembly job listings for to buy a comprehensive compiled a list from one of the websites that you may come across. At this juncture it should be mentioned that this website has a list of more than 1000 product assembly company's and craft jobs that can be downloaded for the price of $7.99. This is the largest listing of craft and assembly jobs on the Internet. Venue subscribe you also stand

Questions You Should Ask Before Joining An Assembly Job

Many people make the mistake of not communicating thoroughly with the assembly company they are intending to work with. Do not feel shy to ask any questions that you may have in mind. Many people do not ask too many questions with the fear of upsetting the person in charge and being refused the chance to work at home. You should dispense with this fear immediately. Any assembly job offer that is genuine will come from a company that has nothing to hide from its potential home based assemblers. They will not mind answering questions were used since they will have no secret agenda. A company that is genuinely hiring people to assemble crops for them at home will be a genuine crafting business in itself. They will be selling the crafts made by you either through a retail or wholesaling chain. The following is just a small list of some important questions that you should ask the assembly company before you decide to send them the registration fee to join:

1) if you are communicating through the postal mail and all you have is the P.O. Box addresses the company for its real physical address. Also ask for the phone and fax number and how you can speak to the person in charge. This is important because if all you have is a P.O. Box addresses then you do not know who is running the show, where your money is going, who is paying you and what the business is all about.

2) Asked about the nature of the business. Enquire as to whether the business is our crafting retail business or a wholesale business. How is it exactly that they sell the crafts you make for them. Do they have any outlets? Do they have a store of their own?

3) Is it possible for you to pay them a visit in person? This can be at their store or the address that is given out for their office. Even if you have stay in another town or another state and have no intention of traveling all the way, do ask this question. Say that work or a pleasure trip is going to bring you near about their area and you would like to pay them a visit. If a business office exists at the address they have given you then they should not have much problems with having you pay them a visit to talk over the work of agreement. One such company that allows this is Cottage Industries.

4) Ask whether they can give you a reference of some people who are currently working for them and who can vouch for the company. Product assembly company that is in good standing with its home assemblers will have plenty of satisfied of workers who will be more than happy to vouch for the company. An example of a product assembly company that has a multitude of people working for it and who are actively part of a forum on www.wahm.com goes by the name of New England Crafters, also known as The Magical Gift Company.

5) Ask questions about the difficulty of making the craft. Many companies have multiple products that are varying in difficulty level. The same applies to assembly jobs at home. You can learn a lot by reading reviews and experiences posted by other people. But what remained and said in those posts was that it is equally important to form your own opinions. One person's failure at product assembly does not have to be yours. Just because a person field at doing in product assembly job for a certain company does not automatically mean that the company was scam. A person can fail at a product assembly job for several reasons and none of them may have anything to do with the unscrupulous nature of the company. Many people get into this work with false presumptions such as the work is going to be easy, they are going to make hundreds of dollars every week, they do not need any special skills of experience, anybody can do it etc.

these are all misconceptions about product assembling jobs. If you want to work at home with product assembly you do need to have special crafting skills to be able to make your crafts to the standards of workmanship required by the company. You are also required to display plenty of patients as the what progress can be slow in the beginning and so is the income.

There are more than 1000 product assembly companies listed on this website. It is impossible to judge each and every one of them by reading what other people have to say about them. Just because one person had a bad experience with a certain product assembly of her does not necessarily mean that you will have the same experience. This does NOT mean that other people's experiences mean nothing. They do mean a lot. but you cannot base your entire judgment on it. Unless of course there are several feedbacks that came the same thing about a particular assembly company.

When you go through the list of the assembly job offers on this website you are recommended to contact as many of them as possible. At least all of those whose craft you find yourself interested in assembling from home. Judge from your communication with the company as to whether it is right for you are not.

We have spoken about various points that distinguish between a scam and a real job offer in other posts. Keep all these points in mind throughout your communication with the assembly company.

Remember, forming your own opinions is about being able to process all the information that you have managed to collect. In the case of a certain product assembly company this can be the reviews that you have read online, the experiences of other people, the report on the website of better business bureau and your own personal experience with interacting with the assembly company.
