We mention this product assembly company because a lot of people display interest in assembling key chains at home, mostly because they think they are simple. Two things are to be said, however. Even assembling key chains from home is not simple. It may very well seem like something that anyone can do, but it is not. The start up fee for ordering the kit seems to be more reasonable than many others.

What also makes it notable as far as assembly jobs at home are concerned is the fact that the owner states clearly and categorically on the website that the assembly work is more for the craft enthusiast rather than someone looking for a serious and substantial home based income. If you are looking for means of earning from home on a long term basis and need the income as a stand alone means rather than a supplemental one, then you should best look elsewhere. Cottage Industries is one of the better known home based product assembly job offers. It has some interesting points going in its favor. Usually assembly at home jobs require you to send the money and also your finished product via the postal mail. This probably does not mean much to someone who is not living in the Orlando area but it should. Cottage Industries is trying to exercise a transparency in their dealings with the home worker. The second thing is that they seem to have a fairly square refund policy. You are refunded your deposit after you have completed one kit for them. If you do not then you are given only half your money back, regardless of how much raw material you have consumed.

You are also not required to make any further deposits to receive additional raw materials, either for correcting mistakes or for your next batch of items.

We did get a report from one of our readers who called up the Cottage Industries office. She was disappointed because they did not have the item available that she wanted to assemble and she was not given a date till which it could be available.
